Setting up Request Money

Request Money allows you to easily request money you are owed. Here’s how it works:

  • Select a contact; enter an amount and an account where funds are to be deposited as part of the request.
  • Add a personalized message, if desired.
  • An Interac e-Transfer notification will then be sent to the contact.
  • Once they receive the notification, they can fulfill the request by logging into their online banking, and the funds will be immediately deposited into your bank account.
  • Whoever initiates the request will pay the fee.

How to send a request for money with Interac e-Transfer:

  1. Log into online banking.
  2. Navigate to Transfers -> Request Interac e-Transfer.
  3. Select a contact to request money from in the Request From drop-down. This list comes from your e-Transfer recipient list. Add a new recipient, if required.
  4. Check the acknowledgement box that you have consent from your contact to request money.
  5. Enter the amount requested in the Amount box.
  6. Enter an invoice number in the Invoice # box, if applicable. This is an optional field and not required.
  7. Enter an invoice due date in the Invoice Due By box, if applicable. This is an optional field and not required.
  8. Enter a note to the recipient in the Message box, if applicable. This is an optional field and not required.
  9. Select the account you want the funds deposited to in the Deposit To drop-down menu.
  10. Click Request. A notification will be sent to the contact. Once they receive the notification, they can fulfill the request by logging into their online banking, and the funds will be immediately deposited into your selected account.
